The Ring Thing® by Kimberly Schafer

When Kimberly Schafer invented The Ring Thing® in 2013, she was working full-time at UC San Diego. Like many inventors, Kimberly devoted years to refining her idea after hours—eight years of dedication to create a simple yet elegant solution for keeping jewelry safe and close by.

A Simple Idea with Everyday Impact

The Ring Thing® is a premium personal ring holder designed to prevent the loss or damage of cherished jewelry. Built with both function and style in mind, it’s waterproof, buoyant, and scratch-resistant, making it ideal for anyone who removes their rings during daily tasks, workouts, or travel.

Each Ring Thing® features a padded base with three protective silicone disks to keep multiple rings secure and free from scuffs. Available in six modern colors, it’s both practical and stylish—an accessory designed for everyday life or as a thoughtful gift.

Partnering with InventHelp & Intromark

At the Licensing Expo 2023, Kimberly met the InventHelp-Intromark team for the first time. What began as a casual discussion quickly evolved into a collaborative partnership built on shared creativity and strategic support.

Through this partnership, Intromark helped Kimberly relaunch The Ring Thing® on Amazon, selling over $16k through the InventHelp Amazon Store. The invention also secured new distribution partnerships and connected with retailers across multiple markets—from university bookstores to jewelry shops and even rock-climbing gyms like Sport Rock Climbing Centers.

Expanding the Brand

Today, Kimberly continues to grow The Ring Thing® line, introducing new variations and reaching new audiences across the country. With InventHelp’s guidance, her invention is now available for purchase on several platforms, including Amazon and SportRock.

Giving Back

As a woman-owned company, The Ring Thing® is committed to supporting individual and community well-being. Kimberly’s mission goes beyond creating useful products—she aims to inspire creativity and give back to causes that promote collective health and empowerment.
