Nolan Bushnell, "Father of the Video Game Industry," Is INPEX® 2010 Keynote Speaker

Atari... Chuck E. Cheese's... for many of us at InventHelp®, this is the stuff of childhood dreams. For that, we have inventor and technology pioneer Nolan Bushnell to thank, and InventHelp is excited to announce that Mr. Bushnell is our INPEX 2010 Keynote Speaker!

Nolan Bushnell is best known as founder of the Atari Corporation and Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza Time Theater. He is currently the founder and CEO of uWink, a game-based restaurant startup, and the chairman of the board at NeoEdge Networks, an advertising-based video game company. His prolific career spans three decades and 20+ companies, making him an ideal choice to share his tips, tribulations and tricks with budding entrepreneurs and inventors. His passion for creativity and education are sure to inspire our exhibitors and attendees next year.

Mr. Bushnell's love of games and competition stemmed from his experiences working Lagoon Amusement in high school and college. His entrepreneurial spirit shined even then; he was fascinated with piquing theme-park customers' interest in arcade games, and figuring out how to channel that interest into a willingness to pay for the game. He would use his love for games and theme parks to help launch both Atari and Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza-Time Theaters.

While he's earned the distinction of "Father of the Video Game Industry," it's hardly the first accolade that Mr. Bushnell has achieved. He was featured in Newsweek as one of the "50 Men That Changed America" and inducted into the Consumer Electronic Association's Hall of Fame. In March of 2009, Bushnell was honored with the British Academy of Film and Television Arts' Fellowship Award, the highest accolade the Academy bestows, for his outstanding creative contribution to the Video Games Industry.

Excitingly, Mr. Bushnell is set to add "Film Inspiration" to his lengthy resume. A biopic about Bushnell, tentatively titled Atari, is in pre-production. The story was acquired by Paramount Pictures and is set to star Leonardo DiCaprio.
